Remember, You’re On The Same Team | Love Talk

In today’s Love Talk, I came across a post that really resonated with me. It featured a couple who, when facing challenges, would turn back-to-back and say, “We fight like this,” implying that they don’t fight each other, but rather the enemy. This reminded me of how often, when we’re exhausted, frustrated, or overwhelmed, the enemy loves to step in and manipulate our thoughts and actions. When you’re stretched thin, it’s harder to stay spiritually alert, and that’s when things can go wrong.

But here’s the key: we’re on the same team. Even if we’re dealing with different things—working on bills, handling the kids, planning the future—everyone in the family has their own assignments. But we are still one team, and that includes our children, too. As they grow older and try to establish themselves, it can feel like they’re on the outside, but they’re not. We’re all on the same team.
Remember, even in tough moments or difficult conversations, we all want the same thing: a happy, thriving family. Nobody wakes up in the morning with the goal of destroying their family. No one wakes up thinking, “How can I be a jerk today?” But sometimes, the enemy tries to plant an individualistic mindset in a marriage, and that’s where things go off track. You have to remember you’re in this together.

God values family, and He blesses it. The Word says children are a blessing, and that a wife is a good thing that brings favor with the Lord. So treat your family like the blessing it is. Watch your words—don’t speak negativity over your family. Instead of saying things like, “They get on my nerves,” choose to say, “I can find peace, love, and joy in my home.”
