In celebration of Women’s History Month, Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell welcomed Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter, the President and CEO of V&J Foods and Holdings Company. Notably, she is the only female minority owner of the Milwaukee Bucks and also serves as a pastor. During the conversation, she shared how faith has played a pivotal role in her journey as both a business mogul and a spiritual leader.

“My whole life has been about putting God first and letting Him take care of your business while you work with Him to make it happen,” Dr. Daniels-Carter explained. She highlighted that her faith has guided her through various seasons, including stepping into sports ownership. She has been part of the Milwaukee Bucks ownership group for eight years and is also a board member for the Green Bay Packers. Reflecting on her journey, she shared her early passion for basketball, having played in high school and college, and how she was recruited by the Milwaukee Doves before the rise of the WNBA. While her path shifted towards business, she now finds herself back in the sports world in a leadership capacity.

Beyond her business and sports endeavors, Dr. Daniels-Carter is deeply committed to philanthropy. Her initiatives have supported over 2,700 women in Africa, providing them with capital and training to start businesses. This effort has led to the development of hospitals, clinics, and water wells. “It is so much joy in watching people reach their place of destiny,” she said, emphasizing the importance of empowerment and sustainability.
She also shared updates on her church’s growth, including the recent opening of a dental clinic alongside their existing health clinic.
