Kicking off the conversation, Dave made his stance clear: “Just because you love Jesus doesn’t mean you should be broke.” He emphasized that while God is a provider, believers still have a responsibility to manage their money, time, and gifts wisely. “It’s all part of the bigger assignment,” he said.
Cheryl pointed out how challenging things are with today’s political and economic climate, prompting Dave to call out what he described as people “spiritualizing laziness.” He didn’t hold back, explaining that it’s not enough to shout, tithe, or speak in tongues if you’re not budgeting, building, or improving your financial life. “You’re not being faithful — you’re being foolish,” he said.
Using biblical examples, Dave urged listeners to save like Joseph, invest like a Proverbs 31 woman, and plan like Nehemiah. “You can tithe and still be smart with your money,” he added. Cheryl agreed, saying people often wait on a blessing without doing any work — even though “faith without works is dead.”

Dave reminded listeners that God has already equipped them with the tools they need to succeed. “You are the blessing,” he said. “God gave you the idea, the talent, and the time. Now it’s time to move.” He pointed out that every miracle Jesus performed required some form of action and encouraged believers to take initiative to activate their purpose.
When it comes to practical steps, Dave advised people to start businesses, learn new skills, and not be afraid to ask for help. He invited listeners to connect with him at thebusinessbully.com/erica or via DM on Instagram @businessbully for guidance on scaling their business.
