Faith Walk: Why I’m Learning to Stop Worrying and Trust God

Today’s Faith Walk comes straight from my heart. I recently heard a message preached by Pastor Campbell, and though it was directed toward mothers, it truly spoke to everyone—especially those of us who find ourselves tangled up in worry. The message was called “Mama, God Said Don’t Worry,” and it reminded me just how often we carry burdens that God never intended for us to hold.

One of the scriptures Pastor Campbell shared really stood out to me. It says not to carry the worries of today into tomorrow because tomorrow has enough trouble of its own. And y’all, that hit me hard. How often do we drag the pain and anxiety of years past into our present? How often do we let the worries of yesterday steal the peace God has promised us today?
I know I’ve done it—carried guilt, fear, and questions about things long over. I’ve replayed moments, rethought decisions, and let the weight of it all build up until it felt like too much to carry. But I’m learning, slowly but surely, to put what I can’t control into God’s hands.

To the parents, especially the mamas out there, I know the worry hits different. Are they listening? Are they safe? Are you doing enough? Have you prayed enough? It’s easy to feel like everything rests on your shoulders. But it doesn’t. You can’t protect your children from every choice or consequence. You can love them. You can guide them. And then? You trust God to do the rest.
At the end of the day, I’ve started making a habit of saying this to myself: “God, this day is over. I did my part. I release every worry that’s not assigned to me into Your hands.” I remind myself that even if I can’t change the situation, I don’t have to carry the stress with me into tomorrow.

Yes, there are things worth being concerned about—health scares, grief, emergencies. But even then, I don’t have to let worry win. God promised me new mercies every morning. He said goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. So, I choose to speak life over my day, no matter what I’m facing.
If you’re going through something today, I encourage you to do the same. Speak what God says about your situation—not just what you see. Don’t let your faith get drowned out by fear. Put on your faith music, write your faith declaration, and remind yourself that God will work it out.

Maybe not in the time or way you expect—but He will. I’ve seen Him do it time and time again, and I believe He’ll do it again.
That’s my faith walk for today. And I hope it speaks to your heart the way it did to mine.
