Just the overall want to be happy, the pursuit, and finding out a way to put that on my album and make it sonically sound, the contrast. You can feel the frustration and the transparency in the music.” This album took nearly two years to make, but he put a lot of heart and soul into this album.
Big K.R.I.T. had a special way he creates music, whether its finding a place where he could focus and gather thoughts it all helps him with his music. It’s our art form.” The rapper also talked about how depression affected his music and how he felt he was unhappy with where his life was at the age of 30. He also explained that in the Black community its not always openly talked about and he would play certain music to take away the depression, pray and “shake the devil off.”
