Mental illness is a common thing that many deal with, but when you’re a celebrity it is sometimes hard to talk about it. According to Revolt, Big K.R.I.T. talked about his new album and battling depression. With this double-disc album, Big K.R.I.T. was able to tell the story about his life and what he goes through.

He said, “When I’m at home and I deal with the insecurities, anxieties, and pressures of life. Just the overall want to be happy, the pursuit, and finding out a way to put that on my album and make it sonically sound, the contrast. You can feel the frustration and the transparency in the music.” This album took nearly two years to make, but he put a lot of heart and soul into this album.

Big K.R.I.T. had a special way he creates music, whether its finding a place where he could focus and gather thoughts it all helps him with his music. He said, “But I think creating is sacred, and something we all have the capacity to do in whatever manner we want. We all have a canvas we can paint on in life. It’s our art form.” The rapper also talked about how depression affected his music and how he felt he was unhappy with where his life was at the age of 30.
