Kenny Robinson Discusses New Single “Holy” Featuring Jekalyn Carr

Artist and producer Kenny Robinson joined Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell to discuss his latest single, Holy, featuring gospel sensation Jekalyn Carr. Explaining the inspiration behind the track, Robinson said, “I was sitting in my room one day, thinking about all the songs I wrote—songs about blessing me and my due season. But I said, I want to do something to encourage God. The best word I could use to describe Him is holy.”

The collaboration with Carr was a dream come true for Robinson, who called her his “favorite artist.” He shared, “I reached out to her dad, and they made it so smooth, so easy. I had a vision for her to be on the song, and God made provisions for it.” Meeting in Atlanta to lay down the track, Robinson was elated with the outcome. “It sounds just like what I heard in my ears, and I’m grateful to have them on the project.”

Robinson also spoke about his life outside of music. A Florida native born and raised in Fort Pierce, he pastors Bass Temple Church of God in Christ in his hometown. A husband of 22 years and father of five, Robinson balances his ministry and music while maintaining his signature laid-back demeanor. “I’m a Florida boy through and through,” he said with a laugh.
