A good friend of mine had been dealing with her 10-year-old son acting out—fighting with his brother, punching holes in the wall, and just doing extreme things. After trying to discipline him without much change, she sat down to talk with him. He admitted something chilling: “My friend told me to do it.”
Now, this wasn’t just any friend—she realized it was a spiritual attack. So, she prayed and rebuked the enemy. She took blessed oil, covered her doors, windows, and even her son, praying over him in the name of Jesus.
The next day, something incredible happened. Her son was standing in the kitchen, staring at the front door. When she asked what he was looking at, he said, “My friend is outside the door. He can’t come in anymore.” She realized that through prayer, she had pushed back the darkness. The Bible says demons tremble at the name of Jesus, and that’s exactly what happened.

We have power over the enemy, but we must use it. If you don’t know what to say, declare God’s Word. Say, “The Lord will fight for me” or “I have the victory in Jesus’ name.”
I’ve had my own encounters, too. One time, I was driving down the dangerous mountain roads in California when I heard a voice whisper, “Drive off the cliff. What would happen? What would they say?” It was the enemy, trying to plant thoughts of destruction in my mind.
But I wasn’t having it. I rolled down my car window and shouted, “Get out of my car right now! In the name of Jesus, leave!” I could feel a shift as I kept driving. The enemy has no respect for anyone—whether you’re a preacher, usher, or just someone on their way to work. But we have authority over him.

Here’s what I want you to remember: we sometimes give the enemy access through things like anger, unforgiveness, rejection, or shame. That’s why we must repent, rebuke, and stand firm in the authority God has given us.
To anyone reading this today, know that you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. Don’t let the enemy push you around or convince you of his lies. You are filled with the life and power of the living God.
I’m praying for you and your family today, just as I pray for mine. Let’s walk in the power of our prayers, claiming victory in Jesus’ name. You shall live and not die. Stand strong—you’ve got this!
