Amethyst opened up about how the song was inspired by the loss of her sister to sarcoma cancer. “We were so close—15 months apart,” she said. “When you saw her, you saw me. From diagnosis to her transition, it was only six months.” Her sister’s passing profoundly impacted her, shaking the faith she had long relied upon.

“I believed in God all my life. I sang about Him, prayed about Him. I just knew He was going to heal my sister,” Amethyst shared. “When He didn’t, I was heartbroken. My faith was shaken.” Struggling to reconcile her loss, she turned to God with her pain and questions. “I asked, ‘Why didn’t you heal her?’ And He said, ‘I did. Not in the way you asked, but she’s forever healed, and her suffering is over.’”

Amethyst also highlighted the collaborative process behind her debut album, featuring artists like Mali Music, Deitrick Haddon, and The Williams Singers. “I can’t take all the credit,” she said. “My brother-in-law, Marcus Hodge, is an incredible producer who opened those doors for me. I told God, ‘If You open the door, I promise I’ll walk through it.’”

The heartfelt single has already touched listeners with its soulful sound and uplifting message. “No matter what you’re facing, keep believing. God will make a way each and every time,” Amethyst encouraged.
