Lucinda is known for keeping the energy high and the music coming, and she didn’t disappoint this time. Her new single, “Someone Who Cares (The La La Song),” features none other than Bishop Paul S. Morton and is now available on all digital platforms.
Cheryl was curious about how Lucinda got the legendary Bishop Morton on the track. Lucinda joked that she begged him, but in reality, he was honored to be part of the project. “He said, ‘I get to sing with Lucinda Moore?’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about? You’re the legend!’” she shared.
The song itself is a remake of a gospel classic originally written by Bishop J.C. White and recorded by his wife, Lady Gloria White, back in the early 1970s. Lucinda revealed that she grew up in the same church as Praise and Worship artist Trina Trina Harrison—Bishop and Lady White’s daughter—and had been singing the “la la” part of the song since she was ten years old.
“This song was part of my upbringing,” she explained. “I grew up hearing Bishop and Sister White sing it, and it stayed in my heart. I wanted to honor them while they’re still with us.”
