This message has been sitting heavy on my heart, in the best way. I recently heard an incredible sermon from Dr. Barbara Bryant, a supervisor in the Church of God in Christ. She preached about being chosen by God, and I just had to share how it impacted me. She was preaching from Ephesians 1:4, and y’all, when I tell you it was powerful—it was a reminder I didn’t even know I needed.

She talked about how God chose us before we were even born. Not because we earned it, not because we were the smartest or the strongest, but because He loved us. There was no process of elimination. He didn’t say, “Let me wait and see how they turn out.” No—He chose us in spite of us. That hit me deep.

And here’s what really got me: Your enemies don’t change God’s mind. It doesn’t matter who accepts you or doesn’t. If God chose you, that’s all the validation you need. It’s not random. You’re not some last-minute decision. You were predestined.

So I had to ask myself—and now I’m asking you: What are we doing with that? Are we walking in that calling? Are we saying “yes” to God’s purpose, or are we too busy focusing on what’s wrong in our lives to recognize what’s right?

Sometimes we’re so stuck on the pain, the past, or the people who let us down that we miss the big thing God is trying to do. I think about stories in the Bible—Elijah, the Red Sea, Daniel in the lion’s den. God has always loved showing up in big, bold ways. And guess what? He wants to do the same in your life and mine.

I know it’s easy to feel rejected. I’ve felt that too. But that feeling is a lie. You are chosen. I am chosen. Even the parts of our story we don’t like—God still chose us knowing it all. That doesn’t change His love or His plan.

So today, I’m saying it out loud and I want you to say it too: “I’m chosen by God. I’m loved by God.” Not because I’ve done everything right. Not because I deserve it. But because Jesus went to the cross out of love—for me, and for you. I don’t have to earn it. I can’t impress God into loving me more. He already does.

This message encouraged me so much. My daughter Krista was with me and even sang a little bit—such a special moment. But what really blessed me was how the message touched her heart too. And I know so many young people need to hear it.

Let this be your starting point today: God loves you. God chose you. That truth alone can silence every lie and give you strength for whatever you’re facing. He’s not done with you. So walk boldly. You are chosen.

Stick around—we’ve got Joys and Concerns coming up next. Love y’all.
