On a recent episode of Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Dante Bowe returned to the show to introduce his new single “Grateful.” Featuring rising artist Fridayy, the song offers a raw, emotional look into Bowe’s personal journey—and marks a new chapter for the singer who continues to blend gospel, worship, soul, and R&B in a sound that’s all his own.

As soon as the track played on air, Erica couldn’t help but ask about the inspiration behind it. “This is the most personal you’ve been,” she noted. Bowe agreed, explaining that “Grateful” was born out of real-life experiences—from personal struggles to career highs and lows. When Fridayy brought him the chorus, Bowe felt immediately connected. “I wanted to incorporate my worship into it,” he said. “It’s a true song. I really am grateful—that’s where I am right now in life.”

Bowe’s ability to seamlessly blend genres has become a signature part of his artistry. When asked how he navigates the balance between gospel, soul, and R&B—especially amid recent debates within the gospel industry—his answer was simple: “I just keep being myself. I was raised in the Church of God in Christ. I’m a gospel singer who loves to worship.” He added with a smile, “My voice ain’t gonna change. Y’all hear it—raspy and loud with runs!”

Mr. Griff jumped in, eager to hear more about Bowe’s upcoming project. “You got some powerhouse collaborations. Can we get some initials or names?” he asked. Bowe didn’t hold back, revealing an impressive lineup that includes Tasha Cobbs, Tim LaMann, Benita Jones, and Enrique Holmes. “It’s a gospel album, pretty much,” he said. “And I actually finished it before all the controversy.”

While Bowe didn’t go into detail about that “controversy,” Erica reflected on how life has a way of working things out ahead of time. “Sometimes God is already setting things in motion,” she said, showing full support for Bowe’s journey. “We got your back.”
