This edition of Love Talk has to do with receiving kind words well. Often, when we are given compliments and kind, positive words, our instinct is to somehow reject it, however politely. We make excuses for ourselves to try to minimize the affirmation that has been given to us. We tell people how little something costs after being told it’s nice, or we deny ourselves the moment of being grateful for the positivity being handed us.

But Erica explains why we have to break this habit and learn to simply receive such affirmations. Putting ourselves down, she says, doesn’t give anybody glory. It is admittedly more difficult than it sounds, but she explains why learning to do so is so rewarding and healthy for us.
