Multiple award winning singer, songwriter and choir director Ricky Dillard chatted with Erica Campbell and GRIFF about his new single, “I Survived It.” He talks about the experience he had of recording his album live on Martin Luther King day of this year at Ebenezer AME Church in the DMV. He explains how Martin Luther King Jr & his legacy factored into that recording session, and as well as the current political climate and preparing for its challenges ahead.

He also opens up about being diagnosed with Sarcodosis, and dealing with whole host of painful symptoms, but pushing onwards and being positive anyway. Click on the audio player to hear more in this exclusive interview from “Get Up! Mornings With Erica Campbell.”
