Earl Bynum and Cache’t Discuss Their New Single “Praises” and the Power of Worship

Earl Bynum and Cache’t recently chatted with Cheryl Jackson on “Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell” about their new single, “Praises,” and how it came to be. The story of their collaboration is a beautiful reminder of how music can flow effortlessly when the spirit moves.

Earl originally went to the studio just to provide some background vocals for Cache’t, who had flown in from Texas. “I only went in to do some oohs and ahs,” he laughs, but things took a turn as the energy in the room shifted. “The spirit started moving,” he recalls, and before long, they were creating something special together.
Cache’t echoed Earl’s excitement, emphasizing the song’s message. “It’s all about giving everything you have to God, no matter what’s going on in your life,” she explains. The recording was done in just one take, which Cache’t sees as a sign of divine inspiration.

Both artists have rich backgrounds in worship and music. Cache’t, who grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, now leads worship at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Texas while also serving as an assistant principal. Earl comes from Franklin, Virginia, and has worked with notable record labels. He’s currently the Executive Director of Music, Worship, and Arts for the Mount Global Fellowship of Churches.

As for what’s next, Cache’t is excited to be working on new music, and Earl is busy wrapping up a project with his son and a new record with the Mount Unity Choir. They’re both eager for fans to join them on their journeys.
