Friendship has always been a cornerstone of my life. In my early years, my friends and I were inseparable, spending countless hours at church, choir rehearsals, Bible study, and youth events. As we grew older, life naturally pulled us in different directions. Yet, our bond has remained strong. What I love most is that we don’t need daily conversations to stay connected.

I’ve learned to appreciate friendships that don’t come with pressure or guilt. Some people might say, “I haven’t heard from you in weeks, are you mad at me?” That kind of energy doesn’t work for me. Real friends understand life happens. When we reconnect, it’s all about authenticity. There’s no need for pretense—we gather in sweats, eating tacos, laughing, and sharing life.

When we meet, it’s more than catching up. We check in deeply, asking: What have you overcome? How can I pray for you? These moments strengthen our bond and remind us we’re not alone. Even our kids are continuing this legacy of connection. Our older children, now in college, remain close, while the younger ones are building their own friendships. Hearing their laughter shows me how generational love carries on.

True friends are rare and priceless. Mine have loved me at every stage—when I had little to give, when I couldn’t contribute, and when I was navigating life’s challenges. They see me for who I am, not for my accomplishments, and that’s a gift I treasure.

Not everyone gets to experience this, but I pray everyone does. Real friendships are unconditional, healing, and life-giving. They don’t demand but give, supporting you through life’s highs and lows.

Friendship is a blessing that fuels me and keeps my heart full. If you have people in your life who love you for you, cherish them. True friendship is life-changing, and I’m grateful every day for the gift of mine.
