Maurice revealed that the role came at just the right time, reigniting his passion for acting when he was considering stepping away. “I was gonna give up acting,” he admitted. “But when I read the script, I was like, wow. It’s like one of those things where you think this role is made for me.” The character’s journey struck a personal chord. In the movie, Isaiah finds purpose as an artist while dealing with the loss of his grandmother, a storyline that mirrors Maurice’s own experience. “I lost my grandmother four years ago,” he said. “In the movie, her memory inspires Isaiah’s art, and in real life, her passing pushed me to become the wellness philanthropist I am today.”
